About Me!
I have wanted to become a teacher ever since my days in 2nd grade. Mrs. Pray, my second grade teacher, is the reason I walked into a classroom and never looked back. She was amazing, a bundle of love, and kept us motivated and entertained every. single. day. I always remember wanting to make students feel the way she made me feel.Soooo.. college was an easy choice. I attended Quinnipiac University to become part of their AH-MAZING teaching program. When I'm telling ya I came into my classroom prepared, boy it's the truth. They have some amazing educators partnering together to create life-long incredible teachers.
And now.. I am a first grade teacher in Connecticut. I taught K for my first three years and moved to 1st last year!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my babies. But our district does not have full day kindergarten, therefore my right out of college self was having trouble supporting her exciting lifestyle. Hmmmmm.... ? :) So I am LOVING 1st grade as well. The minds of my students are what keeps me going. They are compassionate, excited about learning, open to new things, and just plain adorable!
Classroom Tour!
I went with the ever so popular owl theme last year! Now I can't go ANYWHERE without finding something to buy to compliment the ever changing room! I figured I'd keep the theme for a few years! I love when my students get into the theme as well! The amount of owl memorabilia I have is growing by the day! :) But here is a quick peek into the classroom of Ms. McDonald's Wise Owls!!!
We have an old school.. so it takes a lot to make it "cute"! :)
Our "Wise Work" board to display student work!
Our reading focus board!
My SMARTboard! I use this beautiful thing everyyyy day! :)
My teacher desk.. at the beginning of the day! :)
Our classroom sink area!
Word Wall and Anchor Charts!
There is so much more to show you.. but I don't want to go too overboard on the 1st post. Emphasis on the "too"! :)
I hope you enjoyed a small peek into what makes me, me! I can't wait to see where this journey takes me! Thank you so much for reading, or at least looking! :)
